We are seeking a part time Cytotechnologist to join our Laboratory team at Broadway building.
Schedule - variable hours, no weekends or nights
This position:
- Performs microscopic examination of cytologic specimens, assessing cell characteristics utilizing standardized nomenclature.
- Prepares tissues and other samples for staining using histological and cytological techniques.
- Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing special equipment and microscopes.
- Use lab computer for entering results and maintains records in accordance with CLIA.
- Performs adequate quality control to ensure optimal patient care and to ensure CLIA QC requirements are met.
- Maintains detailed records of specimens received, billing, and tissue/cytology results.
- Works independently and with team members.
- May perform other duties or special projects as required or assigned by management.
Must work 20 hours per week for benefit eligibility
Minimum Requirements:
- Certification with ASCP
- Qualified as a cytotechnologist per CLIA regulation (42CFR493.1483)
- Minimum one year clinical internship or clinical training
