Western National is excited to announce an opportunity to join our Claims Team as a Subrogation Claims Representative. This important role will allow the right candidate to work with our internal claims representatives and external insurance carriers to review claims for potential funds recovery.
The ideal candidate will have three or more years of claims experience with a preference for handling subrogation. Previous experience working with Property, Auto, and Workers’ Compensation claims is a plus.
What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Handles moderately complex subrogation claims.
- Compiles data and analyzes and reviews facts to determine dollar amounts.
- Collaborates with file handlers to identify and pursue all recovery opportunities.
- Handles moderately complex problems that must be broken down into manageable pieces.
- Utilizes knowledge, experience, and available resources to resolve claims.
- Files and prepares necessary documentation for arbitration.
- Negotiates with other carriers when needed.
- Participates in development of improvements and helps implement change.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Three or more years of handling property-and-casualty insurance claims with a preference in subrogation.
- Background working with Workers’ Compensation, Property, and / or Auto claims.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and other systems daily.
- Understanding of industry practices, standards, and claims concepts.
- Able to multitask and solve problems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good business judgment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Working toward AIC, AINS, or CPCU certification is preferred.
Compensation overview
The targeted hiring range for this role is $58,000 - $79,750, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
