Western National is seeking a Support Specialist to join our team! Western National Insurance Group reserves the right to fill this position at a level above or below the level included in this posting.
The individual in this role will have the opportunity to provide administrative support to underwriters and agencies by entering and processing commercial and contract surety business and setting up submissions. This role serves as a vital underwriting support function for the team. What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?
- Works within standard operating procedures and established practices to provide timely customer service to underwriters and agencies.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail and works with our ImageRight, E-Surety, Salesforce, and CHIPS systems while learning various software products.
- Processes premium transactions into various systems.
- Sets up new submissions, orders credit reports, and researches the internet for other public records.
- Adds opportunities and updates files in our Salesforce system and sets up ImageRight.
- Works with our underwriters on their files.
- Types up bond forms and related documents for our agents and underwriters.
- Assists our underwriters with their marketing tasks.
- Enters financial statements and related information into our systems.
- Position offers a solid training program and ongoing support from team members with a career path in the company.
What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Edge, with the ability to learn and master software products, including cloud-based programs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
- Ability to make independent business decisions when required.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
What will our ideal candidate have?
- Previous insurance experience preferred, but not required.
- Two plus years of working in an office environment that required strong customer experience skills.
- Interest in continuing to grow and learn in the insurance industry preferred.
Compensation overview
The full hiring range for this role is $20.30 - $26.84, hourly. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
