Western National Parks Association (WNPA), a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service (NPS), home-based in Tucson, Arizona is seeking a Full Time, Philanthropy Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and implementation for Western National Parks Association’s (WNPA) philanthropic initiatives collaborating with WNPA’s Philanthropy & Programming team to heap reach, engage, expand, and cultivate deeper relationships with WNPA’s community of supporters and other target audiences.
WNPA is seeking an energetic, involved, and collaborative individual who will work to plan, implement, and execute strategic fundraising initiatives and donor engagement strategies. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategic fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy & Programming to grow and steward WNPA’s community of philanthropic support including individual, foundation, and corporate donors.
- Lead the planning and implementation of donor engagement strategies, including developing targeted campaigns and overseeing donor relations activities, in collaboration with multiple departments within the organization as well as with park and community partners.
- Oversee donor database management, ensuring data are complete, reliable, and accurate across organizational systems.
- Analyze and report on fundraising performance to inform strategic fundraising decisions as well as to optimize donor engagement and revenue growth.
- Lead grant development efforts, including research, writing, and compliance tracking, while coordinating with internal stakeholders to fulfill grant requirements.
- Process and acknowledge donations, gifts, and pledges in an accurate and timely matter.
- Provide timely and professional internal and external customer service via telephone, e-mail, Microsoft Teams, and WNPA’s Help Desk messaging system.
- Support the Membership Program Coordinator in the implementation of the Park Protector membership program, including member engagement and retention initiatives.
- Support the monthly audit and reconciliation process of giving activity alongside the Membership
- Program Coordinator and WNPA’s accounting department.
- Assist the Director of Philanthropy & Programming in the coordination and execution of appropriate fund raising and stewardship events.
- Develop policies and procedures to enhance efficiency in donor stewardship, gift processing, and fundraising operations.
- Perform all administrative duties in a timely fashion including, but not limited to, routine email/mail distribution, telephone coverage, filing, data entry, and daily maintenance of the donor database.
- Support WNPA’s Philanthropy & Programming team members with events and other activities that may help cultivate or steward donors.
- Supervise and support the engagement of WNPA volunteers, interns, and others in philanthropic activities ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
- Stay apprised of current and evolving fund-raising trends in the nonprofit sector.
- Represent WNPA at high-level donor and partner meetings, industry conferences, and public engagement events to advocate for organizational goals.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned or requested.
TRAVEL
Occasional travel may be required to various local events or speaking engagements. Weekend work for programs and outreach events is required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Two years’ experience with Bloomerang or similar Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and related management and reporting tools.
- Minimum four years development experience with a nonprofit organization.
- Experience with member or donor databases, email-marketing software, Point of Sale systems, and ecommerce platforms is preferred.
- Successful experiencing in grant writing.
- Experience with variety of computer programs including but not limited to databases, video conferencing and presentation software, Adobe Creative Suite, project management, email service providers, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint).
- Ability to organize, extract, and analyze data to make recommendations about donor strategy.
- Outstanding oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in performing all aspects of the job.
- Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships and effectively and diplomatically communicate, verbally and in writing, to visitors, employees, board of directors, members, donors, volunteers, and the general public.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
- Ability to make independent judgments and maintain attention throughout the performance of duties.
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends for special events.
