Western North Carolina located in Asheville is seeking a licensed beautician to join our team. This position is a contract position. This person would be responsible for organizing and directing the Beauty Shop services and activities in keeping with the facility's policies and procedures; provides the normal range of beauty shop services for residents; ensures access by residents to the services as needed and required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/DUTIES:
- Covid-19 Vaccination Required
- Beauty school graduate with a current NC beautician's license.
- Two or more years of experience as a licensed practicing beautician.
- Some knowledge of hairstyles preferred by older adults, and some experience in providing services to older people.
- Must be able to use the English language to satisfy the communications and record keeping requirements involved in the performance of this job position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must maintain neat, well-groomed appearance adhering to dress code of the facility.
- Must satisfy all established licensing and certification requirements applicable to this job position.
- Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions without harm to self or others with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must comply with facility's drug testing and substance abuse program and policies.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the beauty shop.
- Assists management in the development of an operating budget which includes necessary staff, equipment, and supplies needed to provide beauty shop services.
- Purchases supplies needed and maintains an adequate inventory of items required.
- Ensures the proper use and care of equipment and supplies, reports any equipment that is malfunctioning.
- With the approval of the Administrator, interviews and hires an assistant to help with the work in the shop.
- Helps determine the services to be offered residents, and the charges for those services.
- Makes residents of nursing care and assisted living aware of the services available to them, the charges for services, and how visits are scheduled.
- Visits new residents to inform of services available, and plan with the resident and/or family members how and when resident will use services.
- Develops a daily/weekly schedule of resident appointments based on need for on-going hair care and special requests.
- Accommodates unscheduled appointments when need exists and schedules will permit.
- Maintains an accurate daily record of residents receiving service, type of service, and payment plan.
