Job Description
This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool. As vacancies occur, they are filled from the pool.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent in education or experience) from a regionally accredited college or university in the specified discipline or a closely related field
- Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty, staff and students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching college level courses
- Experience with distance education/web teaching modalities
- Fluency in Spanish
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses and be available to students during the contract period
- Prepare course syllabi, course outlines (if necessary) and related instructional materials
- Manage set up of lab supplies and room arrangement prior to each class
- Manage inventory and ordering of lab supplies
- Maintain student records, including attendance and grades.
- Administer student evaluations
- Participate in orientation and faculty meetings as requested
- Participate in student retention activities as requested
- Promote college educational programs and services to the communities served by WNC
