Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll and benefit processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and maintaining accurate records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and payroll systems, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with benefit brokers and payroll provider.
Duties
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time, utilizing accounting software such as Gusto Payroll and Quickbooks.
- Prepare and maintain journal entries related to payroll transactions in Quickbooks
- Collaborate with benefit brokers to manage benefits administration and ensure accurate employee records.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports by providing necessary payroll data and insights.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, tax issues, and benefits information.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance using Gusto Payroll Law Updates.
- Act as general assistant to executive management
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with accounting concepts and practices is essential.
- Experience using payroll software such as Gusto, Paychex, and Quickbooks.
- Knowledge of financial concepts related to tax regulations and benefits administration is a plus.
- Experience in processing and administering employee benefits
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across departments.
