What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist, Parts position at Western Pacific Crane & Equipment, LLC?
Job Purpose:
The Parts Specialist position is responsible for maintaining customer focus while interacting with internal and external customers and acting as a liaison for the customer to our business partners. Activities include but are not limited to parts identification, order processing, maintaining and updating inventory records, verifying customer credit, and working with the parts manager and other parts representatives as a team to identify, source and supply replacement parts in a fast pace sale driven environment.
Essential Functions:
- Process Parts Orders and Quote Requests for External and Internal Customers.
- Assist with Inventory Supply and Control.
- Assist with Customer Parts Warranties.
- Use manufacturer manuals, books, and internet to accurately identify parts for our customers.
- Help plan and quote logistics for external and internal Customers.
- Maintain Customer and Supplier relationships.
- Expedite back orders for Parts and open Sales Orders.
- Pursue new Business Opportunities through Customer phone calls and site visits.
- Work collectively with other team members to achieve organizational goals.
- Operates a forklift when needed.
- Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.
- Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external).
- Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Companywide policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
- Participates as needed in special projects or work as assigned
Additional Responsibilities:
- Some On-Call Overtime.
Qualifications Guidelines
Experience/Training/Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Desired: Previous Heavy Equipment parts experience (2 years plus), Forklift License.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of heavy equipment with a focus on cranes. Demonstrates knowledge of customer service principles including, public relations, communications, record management and file maintenance. Demonstrates knowledge of office practices, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and business correspondence techniques. Experience in forklift operation. Organizational skills a must with the ability to problem-solve and multi-task.
Able to communicate effectively using composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Ability to use E-Mail, Microsoft Office and work effectively in a computer-oriented environment. Must be team focused and maintain confidentiality of data.
Physical and Environmental Elements:
This is a production classification and employees work indoors and outdoors (in all seasons) with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds and pull approximately 20 lbs. Need to have the ability to ascend and descent a ladder and/or scaffolding.
