General Description

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, paint valves, actuators and level gauges, utilizing compressed air spray guns with paint containers. You will be required to thin the paint mix to match industrial standards, match color to company and customer specifications, and keep the spray equipment in good working order.

Job Description

Summary:

• Paint and stencil stacks of repaired pallets in compliance with customer’s requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspects all equipment and filters on exhaust fans prior to every shift to ensure everything is in good working order and nothing needs to be replaced. Resolve any mechanical issues.
• Mix the paint with the correct amount of water (if diluting the paint) and fill the paint bucket.
• Wear the required personal protection equipment (PPE)
• Align the turntable with the inbound conveyor, activate and release the foot switch to allow a stack of pallets into the paint booth.
• Paint a stack of pallets by using the proper equipment and using the correct amount of paint.
• Push painted and/or stenciled pallets on the conveyor to designated areas.
• Stencil stacks of pallets on front and back sides.
• End of shift; clean area, clean paint machine, place all tools in a secure and clean location

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to communicate well with internal management. You must follow safe working practices, as instructed. Ability to efficiently work independently of direct supervision. Must be able to repeatedly pick up pallets and sit down on the ground. 

Education and Experience:    

• Prior pallet experience preferred. 
• Use of respiratory protection equipment is common and required in most applications.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• The knowledge of using a paint machine in pallet manufacturing.

The associate is required to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat and reach above shoulder. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the work environment are typically low to moderate. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
• Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided)
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts
