Job Description
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing all incoming and outgoing inventories. Their main duties include ensuring inventory counts are accurate and up to date, logging all inventory movements in an organized spreadsheet or computer system, flagging shortages to Purchasing, partnering with Manufacturing to expedite delivery of materials, oversee an organized inventory location scheme, and ensuring that quantities of FGI, direct materials, and consumables are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective inventory location and tracking system.
- Manages inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels.
- Evaluates deliveries, shipments and product levels to improve inventory control procedures.
- Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages.
- Partners with Logistics Specialist to manage deliveries and shipments to optimize operations.
- Communicates with Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations teams to meet business goals.
- Develops business relationships with consumables suppliers and implements VMI when feasible.
- Proposes strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures.
- Monitors demand and analyzes space planning to anticipate future storage and logistical needs.
- Maintains timely and accurate inventory data.
- Develops Inventory department metrics and reports on inventory levels and procedural efficiency to upper management.
- Receiving and delivering of special orders to the appropriate departments.
- Ensure that all part numbers match and the quantity noted on packing slips and that any special storage instructions are followed.
- Adheres to all applicable safety procedures and OSHA regulations for material handling.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Location / Hours
On site in Salt Lake City, UT. Day shift, 40 hours per week.
