Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler / Forklift Driver to join our team. This role involves operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, materials within the warehouse or production facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in compliance with safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accuracy in material handling and placement.
- Transport materials and products to designated areas within the warehouse or production facility.
- Move and load raw materials and finished products as required.
- Assist fabricators in loading fabrication fixtures.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using scanning systems or manual logs.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues promptly.
- Assist in inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock management tasks.
- Ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production and shipping deadlines.
Requirements
- Valid forklift operator certification/license (or willingness to obtain one).
- Proven experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving procedures.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
