What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Worker position at Western Quality Foods?
We are looking for a Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
This individual will be responsible for the operation of machines, conveyors, and label coding equipment. Must be able to perform more than one task at a time, which will include: operating, adjusting and monitoring the machinery and product for quality. Must also be able to verify proper codes of the product being produced. Some record keeping is involved. There will be lifting of boxes weighing up to 60 pounds. The shifts may last up to 12 hours per day on weekend shifts.
Relief Person
This individual will learn all the jobs in the plant and will fill in when other employees are on vacation, lunch or break.
· Must be able learn quickly and be able to perform more than one task at a time.
This person must be self-motivated, detail oriented and willing to be flexible as to their schedule. Must work some weekends.
Operator Helper
The operator helper is primarily responsible for helping the operator throughout the day, giving lunches and breaks for operators at various stations in the department. The specific requirements of the job are to learn how to operate all the equipment in the department to such a degree that he or she is able to provide breaks or vacation relief for any position in the department.
· The operator helper will be responsible for assisting in equipment changeover, cleaning and tuning the equipment as required.
· This position requires diligence, the initiative to learn the equipment, and the desire to help out wherever help is needed.
· This person needs to be dependable, intelligent and mechanically adept.
· Recordkeeping is involved.
· The shifts may occasionally last up to 12 hours per day.
Responsibilities
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
- Maintain activity logs
*Starting pay 15.54 - Employees receive $0.25 raises every 3 months till they top out of classification. Insurance rates are very competitive!!!
** hiring for swing shift 1pm-9:30pm and night shifts 9pm-5:30am
