The QA Analyst III is responsible for the oversight, development, and execution of manual and automated testing. The position uses business requirements, workflows, and technical specifications to design and perform functional testing. The position is responsible for driving continuous improvement and ensuring quality processes are followed. This position serves as a subject matter expert and works closely with Business, Business System Analysts, Development, and other QA Analysts.
This position requires an experienced QA Analyst who partners effectively with all levels of the organization. This position requires cross functional collaboration to proactively identify and resolve problems and recommend solutions that drive results. This position requires a self-starter who needs little direct supervision and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. This position reports to the IT Manager – Quality Assurance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Participate in product requirement, specification, and design reviews
• Lead team of software testers responsible for designing, developing, executing, and maintaining functional, integration, system, and performance test cases
• Prioritize work assignments for the team
• Manage project estimates and deliverables
• Develop and implement detailed project plans
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing and Model Office verification as required
• Review code changes with the technical team to assess risk and tailor testing approach accordingly
• Review QA Analyst’s test cases to ensure appropriate coverage is achieved. Identify and remediate gaps in testing coverage.
• Analyze defects submitted by team for completeness and accuracy
• Coach and mentor QA Analysts
• Design, develop, and execute test cases using test plans and functional specifications
• Perform deliverables tracking and reporting as assigned. Monitor progress of testing efforts within the team to ensure deadlines are met.
• Develop and provide testing metrics and reports to effectively communicate test status to the test team and management
• Drive continuous and process improvements
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Information Technology or related field of study and minimum of four to six years of related work experience as a QA Analyst
• Two to three years minimum experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry preferred
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, processes, and project governance
• Experience with user interface design and user interface usability testing in web browser and Windows environments
• Risk management experience preferred
• Ability to effectively lead offshore teams and manage complex projects
• Ability to identify data requirements and data relationships within and among business processes
• Familiarity with standard technical terms and the ability to discuss standard technologies at a high level (e.g., mainframe, client-server, network, database, etc.)
LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to interact in a positive, professional manner with all project stakeholders and participants including managers, and subject matter experts. The individual must be able to effectively and clearly communicate with departmental and company personnel via telephone, e-mail, and one on one dialogue. They must possess good meeting facilitation skills and be comfortable with public speaking.
