What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Automation System Specialist (Siemens Software) position at Western Reserve?
Ensures proper maintenance, trouble-shooting and general setup for hospital energy management system. Programmatically regulates lighting, heating, cooling, alarms, equipment and air exchanges with the use of Siemens software programs, INSIGHT, APOGEE, and DESIGO. Provides mechanical and technical support to the rest of the Maintenance Department by programming controls and switches for building equipment.
Education and Training
High school graduate or equivalent. College or trade school coursework preferred.
Experience
Three years of computer programming and system troubleshooting experience in a moderate to large institution, commercial facility or healthcare environment is required. Experience with BASIC and/or Siemens software programs highly preferred. Experience in plant operations, HVAC, motors, pumps, boiler maintenance and/or engineering technology is preferred.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
Strong computer skills required.
- Knowledge in writing programs in the computer Language, “BASIC”.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, engineers, contractors, and staff.
- Ability to analyze data, diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems and equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints and sketches.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have no more than 2 points within the last two year period.
- Must be able to effectively operate all standard and automatic transmission vehicles.
