What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sonographer, PRN, and On Call position at Western Reserve?
Operates Ultrasound Unit to obtain quality diagnostic images. Provides appropriate patient education regarding Ultrasound Radiology procedures. The technologist ensures that all aspects of patient radiology records are processed and documented properly to initiate procedure results in a timely manner.
Education and Training
- Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS or RDCS).
- BLS required, until ACLS obtained.
Experience
- One (1) year of full-time ultrasound experience specific to field of posted position preferred.
- Completion of a sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology.
- For PRN positions, at least one year current experience required.
Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
- Ability to assume collaborative relationship with physicians and other allied health care professionals.
- Ability to calibrate and operate equipment.
- Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment.
- Ability to independently prioritize work and effectively resolve problems.
- Maintains current knowledge by obtaining 10 CME per year or current requirement to meet registry standards.
