Western School of Science and Technology : A Challenge Foundation Academy is a tuition-free, public charter school serving 7-12 in Phoenix, Arizona’s Maryvale neighborhood dedicated to ensuring that all students are ready for college and career after high school graduation.
Job Title : ESS Paraprofessional (2024-2025 SY).
Job Type : Full-time, 11-month contract.
Reports to : Principal.
Staff to manage : None.
Department : Instructional.
Number of Prep Periods : 2.
Location : On campus (Not eligible for remote work).
Starting Salary : $32,985.60-$44,985.60.
General Description :
The ESS Paraprofessional actively engages in student instruction, assigns and grades homework, manages classroom behavior, communicates with families, and supports students in preparing for standardized tests.
What we are looking for in a team member at Western :
- Bachelors degree (preferred).
- Bilingual- Spanish (preferred).
- Experience in this field.
- Valid State of Arizona “IVP” Fingerprint Clearance Card (or acquired prior to employment).
- Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Knowledge of child development concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of education laws and regulations.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the target or similar communities and in a similar role.
- Use best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to support student learning.
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment where all students thrive.
- Maintains consistent, punctual, and regular attendance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
