GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Contract position responsible for providing high-quality dental care for Western Sierra Dental Clinic patients with the goal of patient learning to prevent dental disease.
GENERAL DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
- Practice general dentistry including:
- Preventative Care
- Diagnosis
- Restorative
- Oral Surgery
- Periodontics
- Endodontics
- Crowns
- Dentures
- Complete treatment plans for all patients examined.
- Maintain records of treatments.
- Patient and community education.
- Develop and implement infection control procedures.
- Supervise Registered Dental Assistant and provide direction to Dental Receptionist.
- Maintain current CPR requirements.
- Documents all pertinent information in the patient’s electronic medical record according to Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures.
- Upholds Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Policies and Procedures, infection control standards, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
- Quality Improvement Duties:
- Participates in quality improvement activities;
- Participates as assigned in interdepartmental quality improvement team efforts; and
- Contributes to overall Community Health Center efforts in quality improvement towards higher-quality, more cost-effective health care for patients and improved quality of work-life for staff members.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Requirement:
- Valid license to practice dentistry in the State of California
- Ability to perform dentistry on all age groups
- Knowledge of current infection control requirements
Additional Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with an electronic practice management system.
- Computer literate (i.e. logging on to computer, usage of keyboard and mouse, familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to type 40 wpm.
Salary range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000 annually.
