Job Summary
The Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) plays a vital role in providing care and support to residents in our Memory Care Community. This position involves administering medications, monitoring patient health, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The QMAP will work closely with nursing staff and caregivers to deliver high-quality care to individuals with cognitive impairment.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals while adhering to safety protocols.
- Monitor and document residents' health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide compassionate care and support to residents, fostering a positive living environment.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within the community.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to medication administration and caregiving practices.
Requirements
- Current Certification as a QMAP is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a health care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Eldermark EMAR is a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Previous experience in caregiving, particularly in memory care or assisted living community.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have cognitive impairment.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
