Job Duties
Up to a $25,000 Bonus for Registered Nurses that are new to state service and remain with the facility for 2 years.
Western State Hospital is seeking experienced nurses as an RN II for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts. Registered Nurses are scheduled to work (2) 12-hour shifts and (2) 8-hour shifts or (5) 8-hour shift per week and every other weekend.
Competitive salaries: RN II-Starting Pay from $79,572 and increases to commensurate with experience, education, and credentials. Total compensation including paid time off and benefits begins at $120,408 for this role.

Our new wings are scheduled to open by the end of March, which will add 56 beds to our capacity.
The hospital is well regarded locally and across the state, has provided consultation or working tours to seven other states regarding our Psychosocial Rehab “Learning” programs, effectively recruits and retains professional staff, and works actively within the hospital and with our community partners to produce good clinical and quality of life outcomes for individuals.
DBHDS is seeking dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse Professionals. A Registered Nurse II at DBHDS is responsible for providing advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards and regulations. Registered Nurses are also responsible safely implementing the use of Seclusion/Restraints including knowledge of physical/emotional risk factors of the patients served at the facility.

Job Duties

- $15,000 sign on bonus will be awarded to new hires to state service with a one-year written agreement required.
- An additional $10,000 retention bonus will be awarded to new hires who are hired after November 9th, 2023. The retention bonus will be paid out one year after hire date and require a one-year written agreement.

Minimum Qualifications
KSA’s and/or Competencies required to successfully perform the work (attach Competency Model, if applicable):
- Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff. Effective communication (written, verbal and sign).
- Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies in a 24-hour 7 day per week psychiatric hospital which at times may mean working a 16-hour shift if and when necessary.
- Complete all annual competency training to include TOVA III with physical restraints
- Complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers with the American Heart Association
Additional Considerations
- Additional consideration will be given to Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or higher education.
