What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technology Didactic/Clinical Instructor position at Western Suffolk BOCES?
Western Suffolk BOCES anticipates an opening for a part-time Surgical Technology Didactic/Clinical Instructor at our Northport campus. This is an hourly position.
The instructor will provide quality instruction that will contribute to the learning experiences necessary for each student to meet the objectives of the course and to be successful in both their education and career development experiences. The instructor will act as a classroom and clinical resource for Surgical Technology students, oversee their assignments, and clinical evaluations and will collaborate with the operating room manager/educator and the clinical coordinator for the program.
Requirements:
· Associate's degree or higher
· Current credential for Certified Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
· Four (4) years of current operating room experience as a CST in the operating room
· Experience in the preceptor role preferred
· Experience in teaching preferred
Work is typically performed in a classroom, lab, and/or operating room setting. Hours vary between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
