The grant will develop pathways for rural students into certified pre-apprenticeships and registered apprenticeship opportunities focusing on education, information technology, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. This position will assist in developing a marketing campaign to inform different rural community partners of Western’s apprenticeship pathways. Some travel will be required to meet with our rural community partners, students, and K-12 rural districts. This is a limited term position with an end date of September 30, 2028
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.2. Perform office functions which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create, modify, proofread and edit documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. Perform other duties as assigned.4. Community Collaboration - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Develop an Educational Marketing Plan to inform rural community agencies, businesses, and K-12 partners about Western’s apprenticeship pathways. Promote apprenticeship initiatives to employers, community organizations, workforce development boards, and Western advisory committees.Foster partnerships with rural industry leaders to align apprenticeship programs with workforce needs.Collaborate with Western’s Admission Coaches to serve as a main point of contact for rural communities and Youth Apprenticeship coordinators to inform and implement the apprenticeship design.Help facilitate a yearly K-12 apprenticeship summit.6. Student Outreach & Support - Supporting Action/Task May Include: Organize networking events and job fairs to connect potential apprentices with employers.Give presentations and conduct informational sessions and workshops to educate the community about the benefits of apprenticeships and available career options.Collect and analyze feedback from participants and employers to inform program improvements.Serve as point of contact for students interested in learning more about Western’s apprenticeship pathways.Manage registration and applications in Colleague and the CRM for apprenticeship students.Ensure that students are aware of funds available by the grant to support their education, like supplies and emergency funding.Assess the academic, personal, social, and cultural needs of students and help them develop appropriate plans to encourage student enrollment and persistence.

This position reports to: Project Manager - ARRIVE GrantStarting annual/hourly salary range based on education and experience: $23.61 - $29.70This position would include competitive salary, along with a wide variety of benefits available to full-time Western Technical College Employees.
