POSITION OVERVIEW:
Serve as a liaison and support between Career Services Field Representative, students and graduates. Maintain all records and businesses in and out of town that participate in our student internship and job placement programs. Ensure that graduates have employment interviews and that a percentage of graduates acquire employment in their field of study,
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure students undergo a minimum of one mock interview with an actual employer for an actual grade. This should be accomplished at a minimum of 60 days before the students go out on internship.
- Follow up with graduates by phone, email, and text messages to provide job leads, and to obtain Verification of Employment (VOE) forms, as needed.
- Follow up with employers to obtain VOE forms for our graduates. Note: a VOE from the graduate or employer needs to be on file to consider a graduate working in his/her field of study.
- Work to support the Career Services Field Representative to maintain relationships with internship and employer sites sufficient in numbers to meet the needs of the campus intern and graduate population.
- Assist the Career Services Field Representative in placing students at internship sites to perform their extended training for hands-on purposes and where the student has the greatest probability of getting hired upon completion of the internship experience.
- Meet a minimum 50% benchmark of interns hired at the internship site and an overall 78% WTC benchmark.
- Assist students with the preparation, revision, and explanation of internship documents (resumes, cover letters, applications, immunizations, etc.).
- Meet with the program director regularly (at a minimum, weekly), to discuss possible new internship sites and updates to current and previous ones.
- Ensure that all students are confirmed with an appropriate internship site no less than thirty (30) days before the internship's prescribed start date.
- Discuss internship early and often, beginning in Foundations, and throughout the training cycle of the students.
- Ensure the student is fulfilling the requirements of the internship. Work with the Career Services Field Representative to collect the timecards for the students electronically. Send the Career Services Field Representative to the site if unable to recover the timesheet and/or grades.
- Maintain internship files for students in the student management system.
- Maintain internship site database.
- Support PAC Meetings in partnership with the Program Directors and Faculty by securing and tracking community participation.
- Administer and maintain contracts, insurance certificates, and other documents for internship.
- Assure compliance with all School policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all graduate and employer surveys are sent out quarterly. Ensure that a majority of graduate and employer surveys sent out in any given month are responded to and returned to WTC.
- Conduct community surveys to gather labor market information, such as prevailing wages, hours, training, and employment possibilities.
- Product knowledge and all other areas of self-study are required.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
1. Minimum of an associate degree or a combination of education and work experience.
2. Hard trade knowledge is preferred but not required.
3. A minimum of five years of experience in the customer service field.
4. Two years of experience in sales, employment, or related fields.
5. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of the minimum legal insurance coverage on your vehicle.
6. You must be able to travel both locally and out of town, therefore you must have dependable transportation.
7. Must have a personal cell phone to be used with the MFA.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates mostly in a professional office environment. This role routinely involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The Career Services Coordinator will be exposed to a variety of environments of employer sites.
