Classification: Hourly
Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW: To issue tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to students and faculty, conduct inventory control, and conduct equipment service and repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Oversee welding tool room operations.
- Record and maintain outgoing and incoming tools and equipment.
- Maintain tools and equipment and safety equipment/gear in proper working order.
- Requisition equipment and replacement parts.
- Maintain equipment service records and make them available to all Program Directors.
- Ensure Tool Room is organized and clean at all times.
2. Inventory Control
- Manage consumable inventory and ensure supply is fully stocked at all times.
- Manage Book & Tool inventory
- Manage Customized Training inventory
- Prepare and submit inventory purchase orders to Program Director.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
3. Assist with the maintenance of electronic machines/equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
- Requisition repair parts
- Perform equipment repairs
- Prepare and maintain repair and service logs
- Develop and maintain a scheduled equipment maintenance service program
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or higher.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must be customer service-oriented.
- Must have a good working knowledge of tools, parts, supplies, and equipment used in the field.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards.
- Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
- Creativity and initiative.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must not be color blind
2. Must have good hearing
3. Must be able to lift or push up to 50 pounds
4. Must stand for an extended period of time.
5. Must be able to climb ladders.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
1. Fumes such as from soldering, welding, automotive exhaust, and/or air conditioning equipment.
2. Noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of earplugs.
3. Lubricating fluids, cleaning solvents, batteries, etc.
