Dental Director (full-time, 32-40 hours per week):

Do you love dentistry and serving those who need care but dislike the churn and burn of your current routine? Then, we need you at Western Tidewater Free Clinic (WTFC)! At WTFC, we provide free, comprehensive dental care to uninsured and underinsured adults. If you are a passionate and talented dentist, you could be our new Dental Director practicing in our new 4-chair dental suite!

Dentist Responsibilities:

• Serve as WTFC Dental Director to ensure the correct and safe provision of care to patients according to dental, clinical, legal and ethical guidelines.
• Manage and communicate with dental coordinator, dental assistants and dental hygienist to provide best-practice care to patients.
• Confer with patients to treat dental needs, perform comprehensive oral exams, read x-rays and create treatment plans for improved oral health and hygiene.
• Provide oversight to paid and volunteer dental staff as well as precept students.
• Collaborate and confer with onsite Medical Director regarding shared patients as needed.
• Perform dental procedures including extractions, fillings, endodontics, periodontics and full and partial prosthodontics using examination and treatment dental tools, including drills, probes, brushes, and mirrors.
• Order diagnostic measures, including x-rays (pano and hand-held), models, etc.
• Record patients’ treatment details in EHR software (Dentrix).

This is a full-time (32-40 hours/week) opportunity. Salary range: $170,000 - $200,000 based on experience. WTFC is a drug-free work place and an equal opportunity employer.
