In this critical role, you will work with engineering and business partners to define and build out complex solutions driving value through business process simplification, innovation, and adoption of the right technologies to enhance product capabilities.
You will be working with a team modernizing the API platform across the entire business lines of Western Union and will be an enabler, influencer for the business strategy through its key deliverables. Key Responsibilities:
Provide the best-in-class API and integration solutions using microservices architecture.
Establish software application standards as well as engineering application integration with other systems across the enterprise.
Provide application architecture and design artifacts and conduct design reviews. Present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Take a hands-on role in influencing development activities, architecture decisions, participate in designs, design review, design review, code review, and implementation.
Analyze existing software for usability and accessibility issues and provide recommendations for improvement. Ensure the product adheres to architecture standards, risk management standards, and security policies and can take on the DEV lead for the scrum team.
Provide strong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, trouble shooting, and continuous development.
Design and implement scalable architecture systems for core applications, identifying the hardware and software infrastructure needs to accommodate the company’s architectural goals.
Participate with Product and other stakeholders to provide the business solution for any new requirement. Design and document moderately complex technical requirements for business applications.
Role Requirements:
BS in Computer Science or related fields with 6 years of professional experience or MS with 6 years of experience.
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience of using Design Patterns and Practices, Rest and Micro services architectural principle & patterns, Cloud Technologies such as AWS & GCP.
Proven ability to understand business and ability to contribute to technology direction that drives measurable business improvements.
Hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, XML, Web technologies, Rest Services
Good Experience in Spring Boot and associated technologies
Good Experience in NoSQL database like Couchbase, Cassandra etc
Good Experience in streaming technology like Apache Kafka , Amazon Kinesis etc.
Good to have Experience with agile development methodologies with Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI (Continuous Integration)/CD (Continuous Delivery)
Team player with strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Salary
The on-target earnings range is $126,500 – $189,750 per year, which includes a base salary and short-term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates' qualifications, skills, and competencies.
