As a Data Science Engineering intern, you will work alongside Senior Data Scientists across different stages of a model lifecycle. You will perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends for effective feature engineering and develop machine learning models under the guidance of Senior Data Scientists. Machine learning models will be deployed using platforms such as AWS SageMaker and Dataiku. The successful candidate will create informative presentations to effectively communicate the business value of the models and document processes and methodologies utilized in the Model Development Process.
The candidate will be pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related quantitative field. You will have a basic understanding of data analysis and machine learning concepts along with proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R. Strong analytical problem-solving skills and reasoning abilities are required. Some degree of familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies would be an added advantage. Preferred Qualifications include an understanding of SQL and database management concepts, knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques and familiarity with of Cloud Platforms like AWS SageMaker or Dataiku for model development and deployment.
The Western Union Denver Headquarter internship program provides university juniors, seniors, and graduate students with real-world experience working for an international brand. As a Western Union Intern, you will bring your unique insights and talents to the company and expand various teams’ capacities. During this paid, 12-week program (June-August), you will develop your skills through a structured blend of CliftonStrengths® coaching, topical deep-dive sessions, team-building activities, executive networking opportunities, and enriching individual and team projects.
Salary
The salary range is $25.00 - $35.00 USD per hour. Actual salaries will vary based on candidates’ qualifications, skills, and competencies, including credits / years of university education completed.
