Software Engineering Architect (Cloud Engineering Architect) (Western Union, LLC, Austin, TX)
Provide the best-in-class API and integration solutions using microservices architecture. Establish software application standards as well as engineering application integration with other systems across the enterprise. Provide application architecture and design artifacts and conduct design reviews. Present solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Take a hands-on role in influencing development activities, architecture decisions, participate in designs, design review, code review, and implementation. Analyze existing software for usability and accessibility issues and provide recommendations for improvement. Ensure the product adheres to architecture standards, risk management standards, and security policies and can take on the DEV lead for the scrum team. Provide strong emphasis on customer journey, product quality, performance tuning, trouble shooting, and continuous development. Expertise in money transfer core platform which is referred as group of services to support messaging, routing and to assist with enforcing data collection and validation for compliance requirements. Provide DevOps expertise to create, deploy and maintain CI-CD pipelines following company standards. Design and implement scalable architecture systems for core applications, identifying the hardware and software infrastructure needs to accommodate the company’s architectural goals. Take ownership and responsibility for one or more applications in a solution. Participate with Product and other stakeholders to provide the business solution for any new requirement. Design and document moderately complex technical requirements for business applications. Telecommuting may be permitted up to 2 days per week. When not telecommuting, must report to Western Union, LLC at 11902 Burnet Road, Suite 350, Austin, TX 78758. Salary : $85,384 - $179,687.50 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, plus 2 years of professional experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, or any occupation / position / job title involving software application development or architecture solutions.
Must also have experience in the following : 1 year of professional experience implementing and consuming RESTful web services; 1 year of professional experience using Agile methodologies on projects and production releases; 1 year of professional experience consulting with project teams and functional units on the design of projects or services; 1 year of professional experience utilizing JavaScript, CSS, Jenkins, Microservices, and programming languages including Java, Spring Boot and MySQL; and 1 year of professional experience working in cross border money transfer domain.
