Your New Role
As our Designer Drafter, you’ll be a key player in our Salem, OR office, ensuring high-quality designs for power engineering projects, including substation, relay protection, civil/structural, and transmission systems.
- Design & Drafting: Develop detailed electrical circuits, system layouts, and structural designs
- Software Utilization: Create and refine designs using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other industry-leading tools
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, drafters, and project managers to meet project goals
- Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all designs meet industry standards and customer expectations
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records and conduct quality checks on all drawings
- Process Improvement: Support research and development efforts to enhance design methodologies

What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 2 years in design/drafting within a utility or engineering firm (Designer I or equivalent role preferred)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of power engineering, including substation, relay protection, and structural systems
- Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to technical accuracy
- Teamwork & Communication: Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Education: Associate’s degree in design/drafting or a related field preferred; bachelor’s degree is a plus
Working Conditions
- Office-Based: Primarily in a climate-controlled environment, with occasional field visits
- Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
- Travel: Some travel to client locations or construction sites may be required
