Job Description: Bone Test
Responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the meat processing facility, including cutting, trimming, deboning, and packaging meat products in accordance with company standards and safety regulations. The worker will ensure that all meat products are processed efficiently, with attention to quality, cleanliness,
and safety.
Key responsibilities:
The employee will use a wizard knife to remove any excess meat remaining on the bones. Bones will be collected and brought to your work area for processing. The meat that is removed from the bones should be weighed and reported back to line supervisors in real time. This task will help improve department red meat yields.
Other responsibilities:
- Meat Trimming: use wizard knife, and other equipment to cut, trim, and debone meat, following specific guidelines to meet quality and portioning standards.
- Bone Rework: remove excess meat from bones using specialized tools such as wizard knives, ensuring that bones are cleaned to the best possible standard.
- Equipment Maintenance: operate and maintain processing equipment, including keeping knives and machines sharp, clean, and in good working condition.
- Cleaning & Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by regularly cleaning and sanitizing tools, machines, and surfaces in accordance with company and health regulations.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) to minimize injury and maintain a safe working environment.
- Recordkeeping: Keep accurate records of production, processing activities, and inventory as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in meat processing or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a cold, damp environment.
Physical Demands:
- Regular lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work in refrigerated areas.
- Exposure to meat processing tools and machinery.
Work Environment:
