Job Title: Lead Quality Control Inspector
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: Hourly wage for this position ranges from $29-35, based on skill level and performance. The final rate will be determined after evaluating the candidate’s qualification, experience, and demonstrated abilities during the hiring process.
Job Brief:
We are seeking an organized, motivated, and experienced Lead Quality Control Inspector to act as a working supervisor. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, capable of performing detailed inspections, and willing to train others on various inspection methods and equipment per company procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform detailed inspections of components.
- Inspect components and parts in accordance with quality procedures using various industrial tools, including: dial gauges, calipers, micrometers (inner and outer diameter), thread gauges, hardness testers, durometers, ultrasonic wall thickness testers, and CMM equipment.
- Interpret and utilize engineered drawings or blueprints.
- Inspect castings, raw materials, in-process materials, semi-finished products, finished machined parts, and Nickel/Chrome plated parts.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and lifting equipment.
- Input data into ERP databases and use Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation.
- Utilize marking guns for part identification.
- Collaborate with third-party inspectors, as needed.
- Follow workplace safety standards and practices.
- Manage monthly equipment calibration processes (both internal and external).
- Prepare rejection reports for root cause analysis and process improvement.
- Update inspection sheets and ensure accurate reporting of inspection data.
- Oversee end-of-work-order processes, ensuring all required documentation is complete and properly signed off (digital and hard copy).
- Participate in team meetings and support quality growth goals.
- Direct and task QC personnel while ensuring inspectors are well-trained.
- Communicate with material handlers to ensure efficient workflow.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with experience with computers and database input/ reporting.
3. Ability to prepare rejection reports and participate in process improvement initiatives.
4. Strong knowledge of inspection tools and equipment calibration processes.
5. Familiarity with operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes (certification preferred but not required).
