Western Veterinary Clinic is looking for a full- time receptionist!
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable receptionist to join our team.
Veterinary receptionists greet clients, set appointments, and process payments. They're the first person a visitor encounters in the vet's office and on the phone, and as such should be inviting, friendly, calm and reassuring. Their tone and demeanor can help a pet owner and a pet feel less nervous about visiting the vet, which makes the experience easier for everyone. Our clinic is a 6-doctor practice and gets very busy. The ideal candidate must be able to multitask!
This job generally requires the ability to do the following work:
- Provide top notch customer service such as greet customers, answer questions, process incoming patients, and handle payments. Must have the ability to provide friendly, efficient service in person, as well as over the phone.
- Be attentive to client and pet needs. Must have the ability to be sensitive to an ill pet, as well as the concerned owner.
- Identify and work with clients in various emotional states, work patiently with emotional, frustrated, or disgruntled clients.
- Answer phone calls, which may involve answering questions and screening and scheduling appointments.
- Relay appropriate information to/from clients to doctors.
- Handle incoming and outgoing email.
- Update and file patient charts. Maintain accurate client/patient records.
- Enter data into a computerized billing program.
- Process credit card payments and prepare bank deposits.
- Retrieve prescriptions.
- Assist with pet supply purchases such as pet food, supplements, and grooming items.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the front desk area and waiting room.
- Technology skills: Ability to operate office technology such as computers, fax machines, and copiers. Must have the ability to answer and operate a multi-line phone system.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
