The position is responsible for equipment maintenance and technical assistance, equipment safety procedures, and the safe use of equipment for the Art & Art History (A/AH) department’s studios. This includes the following studios: Sculpture (Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Foundry), Ceramics, Printmaking, Fibers, Drawing, Painting, Art Education, Foundations, Time-Based, and the student-run B-Gallery, and support other areas of the Department as needed. The technician coordinates the safety programs throughout the Department, developing written safety materials and procedures.
This is a 10-month, cyclic, permanent position.
- Bachelor's degree in subject area/sculpture and three years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience
- Effective communication skills
- Experience working in a dynamic, diverse, busy environment
- Health and safety experience
- Experience working in a college setting
