PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE
- Manages the operation of the campus swimming pool. Sets times for use, establishes rules and assures proper maintenance and up-keep of the facility.
- Promotes public awareness of the swimming pool and the recreational services available to the college and community. Promotes revenue-generating activities to help support the operation of the pool.
- Hires, supervises and coordinates pool personnel, providing position descriptions, direction and evaluation of performance.
- Serves as the Pool and Spa Operator. Creates and enforces policies and procedures for pool operation in accordance with the Wyoming Regulations for Swimming Pools and Spas (Wyoming Department of Health and Social Services), and in accordance with safety considerations.
- Coordinates and assists with the instruction of children’s swimming lessons and provides direct instruction for some lessons.
Other Duties
- Understands the budgeting and requisition process of the college. Assists with preparing annual and biennial budgets as requested; becomes comfortable with the purchase requisitions process.
- Maintains an inventory of all assigned equipment and supplies; take prudent efforts to safeguard WWCC physical resources from unauthorized use.
- Maintains safe working conditions and practices.
- Keeps abreast of professional developments by attending conferences, seminars and workshops and by reading appropriate professional literature.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or 3 years experience as a Pool Manager or Proven ability to manage a campus swimming facility.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the public.
- Certification as a National Pool and Spa Operator.
- Certification as a Red Cross (or equivalent) Water Safety Instructor Trainer, and Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Instructor.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior experience as manager of a swimming facility.
