PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR WHICH THIS INDIVIDUAL IS ACCOUNTABLE
1. Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing and Industrial Technology programs.
2. Serve as an academic advisor for students within MIT programs, providing guidance on course selection, credential pathways, career planning, and transfer options.
3. Manages the development of course schedules in alignment with student needs, instructional resources, and industry standards.
4. Provides leadership and oversight for internships and other work-based learning opportunities, including developing employer partnerships, ensuring compliance with professional standards, and supporting faculty and student engagement in high-impact practices.
5. Establish, coordinate, and help lead industry-specific advisory councils for each discipline within the school, ensuring ongoing input from employers and professionals to shape program content, technology integration, and credentialing pathways.
6. Track and manage program budgets, monitor spending, and initiate purchasing in accordance with College policies and priorities.
7. Support the recruitment, onboarding, and supervision of adjunct instructors; provide mentorship and resources to promote instructional excellence.
8. Collaborate with faculty and the Dean in curriculum planning, improvement initiatives, and integration of applied learning and technology into instruction.
9. Assist in program review and student learning outcomes assessment to ensure academic quality and continuous improvement.
10. Promote and support dual enrollment options and high school-to-college pathways for MIT-related programs.
11. Participate in student recruitment efforts, employer outreach, and public events to enhance program visibility and enrollment.
12. Contribute to developing and implementing grants, industry training, and short-term workforce development programs.
13. Maintain program documentation, schedules, syllabi, and compliance with accreditation or industry certification standards.
14. Promote a safe, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment within labs, classrooms, and the broader campus.
15. Serve on institutional committees and participate in college initiatives as assigned.
16. Support MIT faculty.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of MIT and Workforce.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university with an associate’s degree in a discipline appropriate to this type of position.
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in industrial trades or technical higher education.
- Demonstrated experience with instructional planning, student advising, or curriculum coordination in an academic or industry setting.
- Proficiency with tracking budgets, procurement processes, and inventory control.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working with advisory councils or employer groups.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to hire and train effectively and to develop good working relationships with faculty, staff, and administration.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle record acceptable to the College’s insurance carrier for authorized driver status.
Equivalency Statement
For those candidates who do not exactly meet all the minimum qualifications, an equivalent combination of education and experience, which has provided comparable knowledge and abilities, will be acceptable
Preferred Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, education, or related area.
2. Experience teaching in a higher education or technical training setting.
3. Knowledge of Wyoming’s manufacturing and industrial workforce needs.
4. Experience managing budgets or small-scale capital equipment planning.
5. Familiarity with academic program assessment and curriculum development.
