Job Summary:
WesternScott Fetzer is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Equipment Operator to operate multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms. The ideal candidate will effectively utilize shop packages, including manufacturing orders, bills of materials, routings, part prints, job layouts, and quality alerts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure only calibrated gages and tools are used.
• Set up and operate multiple machines simultaneously as required by the routing.
• Sort and rework non-conforming parts as needed.
• Produce product to established quality standards and notify supervisors of any defects.
• Participate in SQCD Board meetings as scheduled.
• Perform quality checks per WEOP0855 and associated Inspection Record (QF08120).
• Request raw materials in a timely manner for production and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Conduct preventative maintenance according to released methods 100% of the time.
Requirements:
• Ability to safely operate and set up various production machines.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and blueprints.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and fill out quality forms.
• Ability to read and use measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, and go/no-go gages.
