Forest Biometrics / Geospatial Intern
We are searching for anexperienced Forest Biometrics / Geospatial Intern at our Headquarters facility.

The position is intended to perform graduate-level data mining and organization tasks leading to advanced analyses to further TWC's forest inventory, growth & yield, forest management decision-support, and / or harvest scheduling efforts in the Forest Resources Division.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Use advanced analytical tools such as R and SAS to be able to manipulate and analyze forest and / or remotely sensed data. Use knowledge of standard data formats and structures (PostGres, SQL server, Excel, etc.) to perform data-related tasks.
- Use knowledge of forestry in quantifying trends (model building) and other quantitative forestry efforts.
- Build automated tools / processes using R and / or Python.
- Use creativity to build deliverables that address complex forest management-related problems.
- Openly share knowledge and resources to others in a team to further team advancement.
- Manage time and tasks effectively and efficiently and demonstrate hard work throughout work hours.
