What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Service Representative/Teller position at WesTex Community Credit Union?
A Teller is responsible for answering phones, ensuring timely and accurate transaction postings to member’s accounts, and various other administrative tasks regarding member accounts. Must be well organized and able to communicate effectively with all members and staff of the Credit Union. Must have a positive attitude and be able to handle various requests of information and clarification from members and co-workers during workday.
Essential Job Functions
- Must be able to post daily transactions such as deposits and withdrawals
- Required to balance cash drawer on daily basis and follow cash short/over policy
- Required to balance all incoming checks and over the counter checks on a daily basis
- Must be able to issue Cashier Checks and/or Money Orders at members request
- Completes written wire transfer requests and forwards to the appropriate person
- Will be required to strap currency as needed
- Must be able to assist members in placing stop payments on any ACH/Check as needed
- Will assist members with any fraudulent charges on account and complete required forms
- Must ensure that member files contain all required documentation
- Will be responsible for making any night drop deposits and log all contents
- Will be responsible for logging and processing all incoming and outgoing mail
- Must be willing to resolve any member questions/issues
- Must report any problems/issues directly to head teller and follow organizational chart if needed
- Required to log all theme park ticket sales and notify head teller if additional tickets are needed
- Required to assists supervisor/manager with new projects as assigned
- Encouraged to keep members informed of all products available with Credit Union (cross selling)
- May be required to assist with light collection calls
- Must be able to assist members in setting up ACH Originations/ transfers to obtain payment/deposit for account(s)
- Must be focused on excellence and continuous improvement of WCCU

- Maintain good line of communication between all employees in all branches
