The Westfield Area YMCA is a nonprofit human service organization dedicated to developing the full potential of every individual and family in the communities it serves through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We are looking for individuals who are motivated, responsible, and want to coach competitive swimming. The Assistant Swim Coach is a model looked up to by his swimmers. The position is heavily weighted on the human relations side. The Assistant Swim Coach must be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with other staff, YMCA members, parents and the general public. The incumbent must have good communication skills and organizational skills.
- Able to work with children of all ages
- Possess the capabilities and maturity to handle responsibilities involved in maintaining a safe pool
- Deliver quality lesson plans at practice
- Attend meets
- Know, understand, and consistently apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines for all competitive swim related programs and environments
Hours: Monday - Friday afternoons/evenings; Saturdays & Sundays - various shifts available.

Requirements
- Coaching experience or Senior/Collegiate level swimming preferred
- Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED, and Safety Training for Coaches certifications required, or willing to obtain prior to employment
