The role drives business capabilities advancements through process improvement and continued development of technical, underwriting and resource tools, and provides subject matter expertise for business requirements and system processes.

The role drives business capabilities advancements through process improvement and continued development of technical, underwriting and resource tools, and provides subject matter expertise for business requirements and system processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Directs the team responsible for underwriting-related processing, agency technical and underwriting support, and customer services.
- Leads underwriting processing, technical underwriting call centers, premium generating centers that support various functions and business partner needs.
- Gathers, organizes, and analyzes relevant data and results to identify and report performance, trends, and opportunities.
- Serves as a consultant with internal customers and develops new processes enhancing new business, endorsement, and renewal workflows, or refines existing business processes.
- Develops communication materials, develops best practice procedures and standards, documents training materials, and assists with required training efforts.
- Owns accountability for talent management and navigation of employee related issues that impact morale and work environment to ensure a high performing team including hiring and selection, succession planning, performance and compensation management, and employee development and career coaching as required.
- Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.
- Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance including planning, execution, process improvement and best-practice sharing.
- Establishes priorities, manages workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress.
- Executes procedures and standards for individual tools and resources that support compliance with state requirements, coverage enhancements, and transfer book premium generation.
- Serves as a technical liaison for Underwriting processes and procedures supporting the areas of Underwriting, Product and Information Technology.
- Creates and maintains databases which support underwriting tools.
- Manages and provides technical support for the underwriting workflow tools and resources.
- Coordinates the testing of tools, programs, and resources that enable effective improvements in business capabilities.
- Assists Underwriting Operations Senior Manager with managing programs, business planning, processes, guidelines, budget and is accountable for team expenditures.
- Works with both internal and external business partners to ensure excellence in customer service, maintains effective relationships with leadership, staff, internal and external business partners, and vendors.
- 5-7 years of underwriting, PC operations or applicable insurance industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and/or commensurate experience.
