Job Summary
Westfield Outdoors is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Copywriter to join our dynamic Marketing Team. In this role, you will play a key part in creating engaging, high-performing content that supports our digital marketing efforts and overall brand presence. You will craft compelling copy for various platforms while collaborating closely with teams including Sales, Graphic Design, and Product Management to ensure alignment with campaign goals and messaging consistency.
The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, a deep understanding of various content formats, and an innovative mindset with a willingness to fully embrace AI tools as an integral part of the content creation process. Experience in the outdoor industry or a personal passion for outdoor activities like camping, hiking, or hunting is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Copywriting & Content Creation:
- Write clear, compelling, and engaging copy for a variety of digital and print platforms, including ads, websites, email campaigns, brochures, catalogs, sales presentations, blogs, and social media.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure consistency in tone, style, grammar, and quality across all channels.
- Adapt messaging to target specific audiences and campaign objectives.
- Turn technical product details into easily digestible, consumer-friendly copy.
- Review and refine promotional materials for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand voice.
• Collaborate closely with the Sales, Marketing, Graphic Design, and Product Management teams to ensure
cohesive messaging.
Collaboration with Digital Marketing
- Partner with the digital marketing team to create content that supports SEO strategies, sales-driven messaging, and campaign objectives.
- Assist in developing copy for Google AdWords campaigns, social media ads, email marketing initiatives, and landing pages.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions and strategy discussions to drive campaign success.
AI Integration:
- Leverage advanced AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper) to enhance content creation, streamline workflows, and generate innovative ideas.
- Experiment with AI-driven solutions to improve content personalization, efficiency, and overall campaign effectiveness.
- Stay informed about advancements in AI tools and integrate new technologies to keep Westfield Outdoors at the forefront of content innovation.
Content Performance Support:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to analyze content performance metrics and refine copy to improve engagement, conversions, and ROI.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to continually enhance content strategies.
- Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality work.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing/Advertising, Creative Writing, or a related field.
- 3 years of professional copywriting experience, preferably in a digital or marketing-focused environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong eye for detail and precision in proofreading.
- Proficiency with SEO principles and their application in copywriting.
- Familiarity with various content formats, including brochures, web content, and social media.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
- Familiarity with AI tools for content creation (e.g., ChatGPT, Jasper) is strongly preferred.
- Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a dynamic marketing environment.
- Experience in the outdoor industry or a personal passion for outdoor activities is a strong plus.
Salary Range
For the Indianapolis area, this dual role typically commands a salary range of $50,000 to $60,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience, with opportunities for performance-based incentives.
