BILINGUAL TUTOR- SPANISH

Applications will be accepted for the position of bilingual tutor/translator in the Westfield Public School District. Positions: Bilingual Tutor Program Information: 19 hours per week RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work in all schools across the district based on newcomer students’ language needs as identified by the English Learner Program Supervisor
2. Work with students new to American schools
3. Communicate and interact successfully with all staff and students
4. Have basic computer skills, including experience using Google Classroom and Google Translate
5. Model and encourage the use of academic language in English
6. Serve as a family liaison and communicate relevant information between the school and families
7. Advocate for family needs and help connect to community resources
8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the EL Supervisor, Director of Assessment and Accountability, or Superintendent of Schools

REPORTS TO: English Learner Program Supervisor SALARY: $21.85 per hour with no benefits This position subject to grant funding.
