Position Overview
This position maintains machinery, equipment and facilities enabling production of quality products efficiently, economically and safely. Opening on 1st shift.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes to satisfy our customers’ needs.
- Manage part inventory for machine repairs.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Must coordinate time with production supervisors to complete.
- Use Maintenance Pro software to schedule and record all maintenance tasks.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with several departments, outside venders, manufacturers, and sales representatives in the coordination of obtaining parts and making repairs.
- Works to maintain all machinery, equipment and physical plant for maximum operational safety and efficiency, using a variety of tools.
- Procure service parts, supplies and equipment to carry out maintenance and repairs.
- Schedule and coordinate outside contractor work.
- Communication of proper procedures to less experienced personnel.
- Upkeep of maintenance and repair records.
- May assist Manager or other Supervisors in other duties or special projects as needed.

- Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic and geometry, and their applications.
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines, equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Analytical: Ability to trouble shoot including determination of why something broke or is prematurely worn. Providing corrective action/suggestions.
- Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating materials.
- Safety and Security; Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety for the protection of people and property.
- Identifying Objects, Actions, and Events: Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Use of ladder to climb up to 25 feet.
- Controlling Machines and Processes: Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, overhead cranes and man lifts.
- Tools: Personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.), multiple hand and power tools including but not limited to; hydraulic, pneumatic, motor controls, and electrical systems and equipment etc.
- Technology: Copier, fax and computer.
Qualifications
- This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1-2 years of specific vocational preparation; or equivalent combination of experience.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and motor controls.
Preferences
- Minimum of 5 years prior industrial equipment, machine and facility maintenance experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities, but will train other maintenance personnel or new hires in the position. Will be required to direct the actions of those select employees.
Working Environment and Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, and be able to communicate verbally and in writing and take direction. The employee is frequently required to be in a stationary position, move about the buildings and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, operate and repair machinery, and use eye-hand coordination.
