Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to operate press brakes and stamping presses to form metal parts to external customer specifications. Opening on 1st shift.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Works to supply products and services that meet or exceed the customers’ expectations. Follows the documented quality systems and processes to satisfy our customers’ needs.
- Reads and understands work instructions before performing work orders.
- Set up and operate press brakes and stamping presses in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Transports materials to or from storage or worksites to designated area with an overhead crane, forklift, or other devices.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and fixtures being used.
- Examine work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with customer specifications.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, templates, or rulers.
- Maintain a clean working environment free of debris and flammable materials.
- May assist Plant Manager or other Supervisors in other duties or special projects as needed.

- Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Communicating with Supervisors and Peers: Providing information to supervisors or co-workers, in written form or in person.
- Mechanical: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Mathematics: Knowledge of arithmetic and its application.
- Design: Blueprint reading.
- Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating materials.
- Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings: Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
- Performing General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Safety and Security; Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective safety for the protection of people and property.
- Controlling Machines and Processes: Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.
- Tools: Personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes clothing, etc.), wrenches, screw drivers, mallets, tape measure, calipers, micrometers, grinders, hand welder, forklift, overhead crane, etc.
Qualifications
- This particular position requires the individual to have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 3-5 years of prior experience, or equivalent combination of experience.
- Previous press and forming experience.
Preferences
- Experience in metal fabrication and manufacturing.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no supervisor responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and be able to communicate verbally and in writing and take direction. The employee is frequently required to be in a stationary position. The individual will be performing physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole body involving things such as lifting, balancing, moving, stooping, and material handling. The employee will regularly operate heavy machinery and use eye- hand coordination. The employee is frequently required to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
