- Hold a valid Indiana special education teaching license or be a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Have experience working with students with a variety of behavioral needs, including those with Emotional Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Demonstrate expertise in functional behavior assessments (FBA), behavior intervention plans (BIP), and evidence-based interventions.
- Possess strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
- Have experience developing and delivering professional development for educators and staff.
- Support Teachers and Staff:
- Provide direct consultation and coaching to teachers and instructional assistants (IAs) on effective behavior management strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with special education and general education staff to ensure students receive appropriate supports and accommodations.
- Professional Development and Training:
- Develop and deliver professional learning sessions on behavior management, trauma-informed practices, and inclusive education strategies.
- Train staff in functional behavior assessment (FBA) procedures and data-driven decision-making.
- Provide ongoing support and resources to educators, IAs, and administrators on best practices in behavioral intervention.
- Student-Centered Support:
- Conduct and facilitate functional behavior assessments (FBA) and collaborate with teams to develop effective behavior intervention plans (BIP).
- Observe students, collect and analyze behavioral data, and provide recommendations for intervention strategies.
- Support crisis intervention efforts by guiding staff in de-escalation techniques and nonviolent crisis prevention strategies.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work as part of a collaborative team with district staff, administrators, and instructional assistants to promote inclusive practices.
- Engage with families to provide guidance on behavioral supports and interventions.
- Serve as a resource to school teams by staying current on research-based behavioral practices and compliance requirements.
- Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities:
- Maintain documentation related to student behavior support plans and interventions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions as needed.
- Follow district policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Salary: Based on Westfield Washington Schools salary schedule, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Annual evaluation conducted by designated district leadership.
