Position Overview :
The elementary principal is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school, including leading and managing faculty and staff, coordinating educational programs, and ensuring the execution of the district's mission to ensure high levels of learning and growth for each student. The principal will also collaborate with all administrators to establish and implement school policies, promote professional development, and engage with students, parents, and the community to foster a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Clarifying Purpose and Goals : Define and communicate the school's vision, collective commitments, and specific goals that guide the work of staff and students.
- Creating a Balanced Culture : Foster a school culture that is both flexible and structured, ensuring clear communication of priorities and purpose.
- Supporting Collaborative Teams : Use collaborative teams as the cornerstone of the school structure, providing systems to support effective teamwork.
- Ensuring Curriculum Access : Ensure that every student has access to a comprehensive, well-structured curriculum grounded in essential learnings and taught unit by unit using the adopted resource.
- Ongoing Monitoring of Student Learning : Use continuous assessment methods, including team-developed formative assessments, to monitor student progress.
- Evidence-Based Instructional Practice : Provide teachers with ongoing access to student learning data and ensure that evidence is used to refine teaching practices.
- Supporting Struggling and Proficient Students : Offer timely, targeted support for students who struggle while also providing enrichment opportunities for proficient students.
- Providing Support and Resources : Demonstrate reciprocal accountability by ensuring staff have the necessary time, resources, and support to succeed.

- Systemic Instructional Approach : Establish a proactive, systemic approach to Tier 1 instruction for all students, with clear connections to Tier 2 and 3 interventions.

- Multi-Tiered Support System : Implement and monitor a multi-tiered system of support that addresses the academic, behavioral, and social needs of students, ensuring timely interventions based on ongoing data collection.
