POSITION : Technology Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY : This is a full-time, entry-level position with a benefit package available. This position will assist the staff at the schools in all areas pertaining to the technology infrastructure and devices. This position will work independently under the direction of the Technology Director. This particular job posting is for a position at Westfield High School.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb a step ladder or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES : (This list may not include all duties assigned.)
Essential Functions :
- Maintain a basic knowledge of all of the device's operating systems used within the building.
- Provide the required support services to establish and maintain appropriate software and hardware for the district.
- Perform the base level and some mid-range repair, including troubleshooting and diagnosis, and maintenance of all computer systems and peripheral components within the district. This may include escalating the repair work to a higher level of support as needed.
- Assist with the design, selection, set up, and installation of any additional computer systems or peripheral components to be acquired by the district. This would include hardware and software.
- Assist in all required record keeping, including maintenance logs and hardware and software inventories.
- Maintain the helpdesk database and follow up on pending helpdesk tickets to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
- Provide hardware and software support for building media centers, labs, and classrooms.
- Maintain and monitor access of all building printers and copiers.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS :
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Outstanding knowledge of computer operating systems, technology standards, and software. Strong interpersonal skills are as equally as important as technical ability. Applicants must have the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with staff. They must also have the ability to perform the job without continuous supervision and be able to perform a variety of work with accuracy and speed.
Education : High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience : 1 year of experience with Information Technology preferred.
Certificate / License : A Certification is preferred.
