- Supports the implementation of Corporate Engineering’s strategic vision in partnership with Resort Engineering leadership for assigned resorts.
- Travels to assigned resorts, including those outside of Florida, to assess and support the Engineering departments.
- Conducts inspections, property visits, and on-site assessments to ensure compliance with corporate standards.
- Builds and maintains strong partnerships with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Engages in project management across multiple disciplines, addressing engineering tasks identified through findings or assigned responsibilities.
- Leads, guides, and mentors Resort Engineering leadership, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while maintaining accountability.
- Collaborates with Resort Engineering leadership to develop and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a secure environment for team members, owners, and guests.
- Offers technical expertise and provides guidance on best practices for maintaining resort machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Extracts and analyzes data from resort operations software to deliver actionable insights that support strategic management and drive performance improvement (HotSOS, Medallia, and dashboards).
- Monitors emerging industry trends and integrates best practices to drive continuous improvement in engineering operations.
- Complies with all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Represents Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Corporate Engineering leadership.
- Travels up to 50% to support assigned resorts outside of Florida.
- 5 years or more of senior leadership experience in a resort/commercial environment.
- 5 years or more of experience supporting or managing large-scale projects.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership on strategic initiatives and projects.
- Experience in leading and managing teams in multiple locations simultaneously across various states or cities.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities across multi-unit locations.
- High School diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in maintenance or construction required; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Licensed Engineer or Licensed Contractor preferred.
- Major Trade Certification(s) are required; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Project Management and/or other certifications preferred.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the state of employment is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across corporate and resort teams.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documents, and O&M manual(s).
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, electrical tools, and battery-powered equipment.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with operational tools such as Medallia, SharePoint, and HotSOS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including leadership, on initiatives and projects.
- Oversee specialty trade technicians and manage various dotted-line relationships.
- Lead by example, providing guidance and mentorship to drive performance and uphold industry standards.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Work involves ladders, scaffolds, lifts, dust masks, and confined or tight spaces.
- Regularly lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds or more.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Write simple correspondence effectively.
- Present information clearly in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and team members.
- Frequently travel to assigned resorts, with an assigned workspace in a corporate office.
