Job Description
As the Maintenance Manager at Westgate Resorts, you will be the driving force behind the resort’s engineering and maintenance operations. With your extensive technical experience and leadership skills, you will oversee the Engineering Department, ensuring the highest standards of excellence, safety, and guest satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional vacation experiences. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.
- Develop and execute the strategic vision and direction for the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort’s overall objectives.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while ensuring accountability.
- Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees.
- Be responsible for the effective scheduling and budgeting of the Engineering Department; manage capital reservations and expenses, P&L reviews, and expense forecasting.
- Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the resort’s infrastructure, mechanical systems, and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Lead the planning and execution of major Capital and Reserve improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring contract compliance and effective partnerships.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and assigned to the Engineering Department.
- Ability to create documents using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in maintenance and operations of F&B, landscaping, pools, grounds keeping, and laundry facilities.
- Proficiency in effectively using resort operations devices and software (HotSOS).
- Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
- Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
- Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals.
- Must be able to recognize and resolve potential hazards on the property.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools, as well as other relevant tools required for the job.
- Ability to work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and within confined/restricted spaces.
- Ability to interpret and address guest needs through positive interactions toward resolutions.
- Must adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
- Must always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

- High school diploma required; bachelor's or associate degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
- 3 years of leadership experience in a resort/commercial environment.
- Must be detail-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
- Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
- Licenses or certifications in core trades such as refrigeration, plumbing, or electrical are preferred.
- OSHA safety certification is preferred.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
