Overview
Westgate Pet Clinic in Southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota is hiring a full-time experienced Veterinarian to join our busy and thriving eleven-doctor clinic! Our doctors have varied interests, which we encourage and support.
About our clinic: Westgate Pet Clinic is an AAHA accredited and AAFP Gold-Certified small animal practice offering the best in medical, surgical, and customer care. We have been a pillar in our community for almost 50 years and we absolutely love our patients and our clients! We practice Fear Free medicine and in addition to traditional services, we offer laparoscopic procedures, endoscopy, acupuncture, pocket pet medicine, and more.
Our diagnostic equipment includes an in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and rhinoscopy. We would happily welcome any candidates with an interest and passion for imaging. In addition to the regular devices required for surgery and anesthesia, we have a brand-new surgical laser and laparoscopy equipment. We use EzyVet for our electronic medical record software. Most importantly, we have a strong and dedicated group of technicians, technician's assistants, veterinary assistants, and customer care, who are the bones of our practice.
Our practice is open Monday – Thursday, 8 am to 6 pm, Friday, 7:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm, with 90-minute to 2-hour lunch breaks. We typically have 6-8 doctors working each day, with 1-2 in surgery and 5-6 seeing appointments. The schedule we are looking to fill is a 3 ½ -4 day work week, with no on-call responsibilities. All doctors also help cover vacation leave for other doctors, which is 0-2 additional shifts per month. Ideal qualifications:
- Minnesota Veterinary License – active and in good standing
- Team-oriented mentality that supports our collaborative, family culture
- Preferably 3 years experience
- Interest and experience in advanced surgeries, exotics, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging
