What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard (Seasonal) position at Westgate Pool?
Need a new job? We're hiring lifeguards for our Westgate community pool for the upcoming summer season. This is a part-time, seasonal position, so it's perfect for students and people looking to supplement their income.
Lifeguards will be responsible for monitoring the safety and welfare of all patrons at the pool, as well as being prepared to respond to any emergencies. Our guards are also responsible for keeping the pool area clean at all times and must be able to demonstrate an understanding of local emergency procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor a pool area for swimmers in distress.
- Watch swimmers in the water and assist as needed.
- Collaborate with other employees to prevent accidents.
- Make decisions about how to handle dangerous situations.
- Must be available to work at least 2 holidays during the season (Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day)
Qualifications
- Certification in CPR and First Aid (must be active for first shift if hired)
- Proven swimming skills and lifeguard experience
- Ability to perform pool maintenance and cleaning
- Strong guest service skills
- Capability to handle heavy lifting tasks
- Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: From $13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
